Riverland Champion of Champions 2021-2022

Congratulations to all of the Barmera champions who competed in the Riverland Champion of Champions events.

Special mention to Carol Shugg, Gloria Burns, Kym Mellon & Bev Lloyde. After accounting for Lyrup and Waikerie in the earlier rounds, they defeated Monash 10-6 in the final

.

Special mention also to the Men’s fours combination of Ron Reynolds, John Morena, Brian Frost & Kelven Carter who had a real day out. With very comfortable wins over Monash and Loxton RSL in the early rounds they had a resounding win over Berri in the final, winning 17-3.

Julie Gartner, Jenny Healey & Deb Carter competed strongly in the Riverland Champion of Champion Ladies Triples, going down narrowly to Monash (14-12) in the preliminary rounds.

 

Julie and Jenny also represented us in the Riverland Champion of Champion Ladies Pairs. After a solid win over Lyrup in the early round they went down narrowly to the Ladies from Loxton in a close tussle 12-8.

 

In the Riverland Champion of Champion Men’s Pairs Wayne Uppington and Alan Stagg had solid wins over teams from Waikerie and The Lawns to make the final, ultimately going down to the team from Berri 15-6.

 

In the Riverland Champion of Champion Ladies Singles Gloria Burns had a solid win over Loxton RSL in the early rounds, in the semi final she went down to the eventual winner, from The Lawns.
